MEDIA AND INFORMATION LANGUAGES

"Language is a source of misunderstanding."

-McLuhan, 1964

Language is a key to communicate. Language
is a universal weapon, it can be used to express
what you really feel. It can be used to unite people,
but when misused it can cause a lot of trouble.
Language is for everybody, everyone has different
perspective and interpretation of how they heard or
read a certain language, and that is how misunderstanding
occurs.

Does the user's/ audience's own background or experience affect the interpretation of messages? Why?

Yes, everyone has different experiences. These can be
a source of knowledge or it can be a basis
of how they interpret things.

Is it possible that a different individual derives a different meaning from the meaning? Explain.

Yes, it is very possible. People have different
perspectives or views on everything.

POLITICIAN SCENARIO

(target audience, sender, purpose, key content, form, medium)

Language is a medium that we use to
communicate and transmit information.
Language comes in many forms,it can be
writing, speaking, typing or even a little gesture.

Media Language is being configured by us,
the people. It is made up of codes, symbols,
and conventions that people understands.

We are the consumers and producers of media.
People use media to give out information, we use social
media mostly, but information is transmitted through many other
forms of media. We read and use this information in our daily lives.

A local government official was charged of graft and
corruption and was suspended from his office. The government official
announced that the charges were all fabricated and that
he will not step down from his office. A large group of supporters
are present to protest. They barricaded the building where the official has once
taken office. A struggle seems to start breaking out between the protesters and
the police.
