INTERNET OF THINGS
The Internet
of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing
devices, mechanical
and digital machines, objects, animals
or people that
are provided
with unique
identifiers and the ability to transfer
data over a
network without
requiring
human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

WHAT is internet of
things?
Based from what I have
understood, Internet of Things, are
connected devices, objects or
things that can transport information
through a network. It can
process data not requiring
face to face interaction.
What brought about
this theory?
Being online and using devices
all time is what brought this theory
about. This era is dependent on
the internet and
devices that are interconnected.
It makes the process of
disseminating easy and fast. It is ready to be accessed anytime.
Do you like the concept
Of iot?
I like the idea of obtaining
information immediately, and
it is offered by IoT. There is
just this one thing that
I do not like in IoT. It is the
absence of face to face interactions.
In what situations do you encounter IoT in the
Philippines?
I encounter Internet of Things
every day. I use technology
to communicate and gather
information from
different devices and machines. I also use ‘beep’
card for transportation from
place to place.
How do you think IoT will evolve a
nd affect Filipino society in the next 3 to 5 years?
nd affect Filipino society in the next 3 to 5 years?
After 3 to 5 years I think, it
would affect Filipino
society’s connection, not
internet connection, but
person to person connection. I
can see the effect of
technology to me and the people
around me, and it
somehow cut down person to
person interaction.
What
do you think is the relationship/cause
and effect of IoT in media and information literacy?
and effect of IoT in media and information literacy?
In Media and Information Literacy,
you will be informed
of what you should do or could
do with the
information that you will gather
in the Internet of Things.
IoT can be confusing because it
is a very wide-ranged platform
and anyone can use it, you must
identify what is real in
every data that you might get.
